Chinese Embassy Hosts Special Event to Mark 70 Years of Nepal-China Diplomatic Relations

Kathmandu- Chinese Embassy hosts special program in Kathmandu to mark 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.

This significant event was held at the Yak and Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu, where the relationship between the two countries was commemorated through a grand ceremony.

The formal establishment of this relationship took place on August 3, 1955, according to the Nepali calendar, 19th of Sawan, 2012, marking seven decades of diplomatic ties. On this occasion, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu organized a large gathering.

The gathering was attended by Nepal’s ministers, constitutional officials, secretaries, and other senior government officers, along with employees from various diplomatic missions, leaders of civil society, security chiefs, representatives from friendship organizations, media personnel, and Chinese citizens working in Nepal, all invited by the newly appointed Acting Ambassador (Charge d’Affaires) Chou Pan.

Meanwhile, the Nepal-China Media Forum published a book covering various aspects of the relationship between the two countries, spanning more than 350 pages. Additionally, the Chinese Embassy sponsored Chinese language training for Nepalese tourism entrepreneurs and media professionals. Just last week, the fourth Nepal-China Communication Conference was also completed.

Furthermore, with the aim of promoting cultural and creative products from the Himalayan region, the “Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World” exhibition and the Sichuan Cultural Week were celebrated. Throughout the year, various cultural exhibitions, sports events, diplomatic receptions, and other participatory programs have been organized, and this trend is expected to expand in the coming year.
