TOB Commander’s Citizenship Found Fake, Who Involved in Gen Z Protests

Kathmandu : Tenzin Dawa Lama, who was involved in vandalism and attempts to overthrow the government during the Gen Z protests while wearing a black jacket inscribed with TOB—meaning “Tibetan Original Blood”—has been found to have obtained Nepali citizenship using fake documents.He had registered his birth on Saturday at the Ward No. 6 office of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and obtained a recommendation for citizenship based on that. However, the police have recently received a report confirming that the recommendation was forged.

The Kathmandu District Administration Office had issued the citizenship recommendation based on a fake birth certificate dated Chaitra 10, 2063 BS (ten years after his actual birth). The relevant record file, known as “Dhadda,” was reportedly destroyed in a fire on Bhadra 24. However, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has informed the Kathmandu Police Office through a letter stating that it did not issue such a recommendation. This confirms that the basis upon which Tenzin received his citizenship was invalid from the start.

When questioned, Tenzin stated that he was unaware of how and through what means the recommendation was obtained, saying it had been managed by his mother. According to sources, Tenzin has already used this fraudulent citizenship to obtain a national identity card and a passport. He was preparing to travel to Australia with this passport.

“If the current government, formed in the name of Gen Z, continues to show leniency toward such anti-national elements, and if judges, like in previous instances, show compassion in these cases as well, the threat of courthouses being set on fire again becomes imminent.”

This incident demonstrates that Nepal harbors thousands of individuals who are living covertly, bribing officials to acquire Nepali citizenship, and not only conducting anti-neighbor activities but also attempting to incite destruction in the very country that has granted them refuge. It proves that no one is safe from such individuals.

When police interrogated Tenzin about why he created fake documents, he expressed regret, saying that people constantly mocked him as “Tibetan, Tibetan,” which led him to assert that he was Nepali by making a TikTok video. He admitted that this turned out to be a self-destructive move.

If strict action is not taken against every suspicious individual who fraudulently acquires citizenship and passports, and against the corrupt officials who accept bribes, the country is certain to pay a heavy price. Today marks the seventh day since his arrest. According to legal procedure, the investigation must be completed, and a case filed in court within 25 days.

If the current government, formed under the name of Gen Z, continues to show favor to such traitorous elements, and if judges once again soften their stance in such cases, the threat of courts being burned down looms large once again.
