Chinese Embassy in Nepal Launches ‘Chinese Embassy Youth Pioneer Program’

Kathmandu: The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has launched the ‘Chinese Embassy Youth Pioneer Program’ with the objective of empowering Nepali youth in the fields of leadership, social service, and professional development.

According to the Embassy, the program aims to build an influential youth network capable of bringing positive change to Nepal’s social development by equipping young individuals with diverse skills. The initiative specifically targets young professionals, social workers, entrepreneurs, cultural experts, and active individuals aged between 22 and 34. The duration of the program is set for one year.

During this period, participants will have the opportunity to engage directly in various leadership development trainings, workshops, and community-based programs. As stated by the Embassy, participants will also be required to select a social issue based on their interests and expertise, develop an action plan, and actively implement it.

A key highlight of the program is the opportunity for outstanding participants to visit China. Selected individuals will be able to observe and experience China’s development practices firsthand. Interested candidates are invited to apply by May 17, 2026. Following a rigorous evaluation of applications, only 10 to 20 qualified candidates who meet the program’s criteria will be selected.

The initiative is expected to help participants expand their professional networks. The Chinese Embassy has expressed confidence that this program will further strengthen cultural ties between Nepal and China, fostering a new chapter of mutual understanding and cooperation through youth engagement.
