Third Trans-Himalayan Communication and Social Development Conference Kicks Off in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nepal – The third Trans-Himalayan Communication and Social Development Conference began on Friday at the Camera Building of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in Balaju, Kathmandu.

The conference will be held over two days and aims to bring together leading scholars and researchers from around the world.

The event is jointly organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Tribhuvan University and the School of Public Administration at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.

The list of participants includes prominent scholars and researchers from the United States, China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, and Nepal, who will present their research on various aspects of communication.

The opening session was addressed by Dr. Deepak Aryal, the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. Additionally, the Rector of Tribhuvan University, Khadga KC, shared his views on the changing geopolitical landscape and the importance and impact of global communication.

The purpose of the conference is to promote the exchange of knowledge on communication and social development within the Trans-Himalayan region. Dr. Kundan Aryal, the Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, emphasized that the conference serves as a platform for cross-border dialogue and collaboration.

The conference features notable scholars, including Arvind Singhal from the University of Texas at El Paso, who will present their research and engage in discussions on various social and communication issues.
