Good afternoon! Tashi Delek!

I am delighted to attend the opening ceremony of the “70 Years of China-Nepal Friendship: Advancing Together on the Path of Friendship – the First ‘China’s Xizang Connections · Culture Week'”.

The development of China’s Xizang is a vivid portrayal of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese people in the pursuit of economic prosperity, social progress, and the protection of human rights.

Since the momentous serfdom reform initiated in Xizang in 1951, the region has witnessed all-round progress and historic achievements in its development endeavors.

It now presents a development landscape characterized by political stability, ethnic unity, economic growth, social harmony, religious amity, environmental friendliness, and a happy life for the people.

This beautiful tapestry of human civilization has become a model for the development of the global human rights cause.

I hope that through the cultural performances, expert seminars, photo exhibitions, and other activities during the “China’s Xizang Connections · Culture Week,” our distinguished guests present will gain an in-depth understanding of Xizang, a place with a profound history and magnificent landscapes, and experience a Xizang that is confident, open, happy, and vibrant.

Xizang culture is an integral part of the diverse yet unified pattern of Chinese civilization.

During the process of absorbing the essence of Nepali Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism has evolved into a distinctive Buddhist cultural system within the Chinese context, laying the foundation for the flourishing of Buddhism worldwide.

Cultural heritages in Xizang such as the Potala Palace embody the collective wisdom of Chinese and Nepali craftsmen and have been listed as key cultural relics protected at the national level in China.

The millennia-long history of exchanges between China’s Xizang and Nepal not only epitomizes the openness, inclusiveness, and enduring vitality of Chinese civilization, but also serves as compelling evidence of the harmonious coexistence and mutual learning among human civilizations.

China is willing to work together with Nepal to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, successfully host the “China’s Xizang Connections · Culture Week,” and lay a solid cultural foundation for the building of a China-Nepal community with a shared future.

Dear friends,

China and Nepal are linked by mountains and rivers, enjoying ever-lasting friendship.

China’s Xizang is precisely at the forefront of economic and trade connectivity, as well as cultural dialogues between our two nations, playing an irreplaceable and unique role in building a strategic cooperative partnership for ever-lasting friendship oriented towards development and prosperity between China and Nepal.

In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, practical cooperation between China’s Xizang and Nepal across various fields has been intensifying.

All four pairs of border ports and 14 traditional border trade points between China and Nepal have been fully resumed. Direct flights from Lhasa to Kathmandu and Pokhara have been successfully opened. The China-Nepal Highland Dragon Boat Race was grandly held in Nyingchi, Xizang.

The Xizang Art Troupe gave heartfelt performances in Nepal. These economic, trade, and cultural exchanges fully prove that enhancing connectivity and expanding exchanges between China and Nepal meet development needs, align with people’s expectations, and hold vast prospects and an infinite future.

I hope that the “China’s Xizang Connections · Cultural Week” can become a new fulcrum for people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Nepal, enhancing mutual understanding, promoting closer bonds between our peoples, and driving our win-win cooperation to new heights!
